How we document vacuum recoveries

In urgent HV/UHV scenarios, teams often jump straight into component swaps. That can work—but it frequently leaves the real failure mode intact. A short, structured log turns the recovery into a repeatable procedure.

Our minimum viable record

• Symptom timeline: when did behavior change, what operations preceded it, what changed recently.
• Gauge sanity checks: confirm gauge type, range, and any known failure signatures.
• Valve state verification: explicit valve states and interlocks—avoid assumptions.
• Pump/controller diagnostics: alarms, currents, temperatures, and controller logs.
• Actions taken: what was changed, why, and what measured effect occurred.

Keep the format consistent and short. A single page with a clear timeline and a few key measurements is usually enough to make the next recovery faster—and safer.
